Becoming sound is a small scale, full service recording facility located in rural and beautiful Ymir BC. We provide a fun, focused and professional atmosphere, away from urban busyness, for artists to create new works and develop existing materials. With services ranging from inception to mastered mixes, composition, writing retreats with luxury onsite accommodations and demo packages, Becoming Sound can help you reach your creative potential.


The 2 room studio contains high quality digital and analogue equipment, a professionally trained, experienced and personable engineer coupled with light filled mountain views providing the ideal environment while your ideas are becoming sound.

Accommodations

Becoming Sound offers affordable accommodation packages for artists who are working in the studio. The Boardside Manor Guest House is a small luxury cabin able to accommodate up to six people. Located on a quiet property in Ymir adjacent to Becoming Sound, Boardside Manor offers a place to write, rejuvenate and relax while not working in the studio. A small kitchen, living area, king size bed, double loft bed, double jacuzzi tub and a heated slate floor in the bathroom will keep you comfortable and energized for your next session.

Boardside Manor is also available for writing retreats if you aren't quite ready for the red button.
